Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)

CITES is the international convention that regulates the global trade in endangered species. With over 180 Parties having signed on since 1975, the convention has nearly universal coverage. The aim of the convention is to ensure that wildlife trade does not pose a threat to wild populations of plants and animals. In this light, all signatories to the convention engaged in trading listed species must submit non-detriment findings to CITES. Whether you’re a diver, a fisher, a scientist, a seahorse enthusiast, or just on a beach holiday, you can upload your photos and observations to iSeahorse. You can help identify seahorse species. You can advocate for their protection in your ocean neighbourhood. We're also looking for people to help monitor wild seahorse populations and seahorse landings at ports.

Encyclopedia of Life (EOL)

The Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is a free, online collaborative encyclopedia intended to document all of the 1.9 million living species known to science. It is compiled from existing databases and from contributions by experts and non-experts throughout the world. It aims to build one "infinitely expandable" page for each species, including video, sound, images, graphics, as well as text.

FishBase

FishBase is a global species database of fish species (specifically finfish). It is the largest and most extensively accessed online database on adult finfish on the web. Over time it has evolved into a dynamic and versatile ecological tool, widely cited in scholarly publications.

Peau-Bleue Association

Peau-Bleue is a non-profit organization created in 1995, who's main goal is to improve and share knowledge of the biological and ecological diversity of the aquatic environment.  During the past 10 years, Peau-Bleue has developed several participatory and community science projects that include Hippo-ATLAS, Hippo-HABITAT and Hippo-THAU.
